NFC chip price in Pakistan depends far more on what surrounds the chip than on the chip itself. A bare NFC chip on an inlay is the cheapest form, while the same chip inside a hybrid metal card or a printed review standee costs many times more because of the material, the finishing and the work involved.
This guide explains current wholesale prices for NFC chips in their common forms, the seven honest factors that decide what you pay, and how to avoid paying less for chips that cost you more later. Prices are in Pakistani rupees, per piece, for blank stock at our minimum order quantities.

The 7 factors behind the NFC chip price

1. The chip type
NXP’s NTAG family is the standard for business use. NTAG213 has 144 bytes of user memory, NTAG215 has 504 bytes and NTAG216 has 888 bytes. More memory costs a little more. For a single link, NTAG213 is enough; for a full contact card, NTAG215 is the usual choice. Our NTAG213 vs NTAG215 vs NTAG216 guide explains which to pick.
2. Genuine NXP or compatible
This is the biggest hidden factor. Genuine NXP chips cost more than compatible clones. Clones can work well at first, but some fail early, read inconsistently or refuse to lock. You can check any NFC chip with NXP’s free TagInfo app, which reads the originality signature. Our Premium Grade and Grade B use genuine NXP chips; Grade C uses NTAG-compatible chips and is priced for price-first jobs. See genuine NXP NTAG chip.
3. The form: inlay, sticker, card or tag
The same chip costs very different amounts in different forms:
- Wet inlay: the chip and antenna on a thin adhesive film. The lowest price, used by printers and packaging makers.
- Sticker: an inlay with a printable face. A little more.
- PVC card: the inlay laminated inside CR80 plastic.
- Keyring, epoxy tag, wristband: moulded or cast bodies with more material and work.
- Standee or desk plate: a printed stand with the tag built in.
- Wooden or metal card: premium materials, precise cutting and engraving.
4. Material and finish
Thick premium PVC costs more than thin economy PVC. Anti-metal tags include a ferrite layer, which adds cost. Hybrid metal cards need a special construction so the chip can read through metal. Finishes such as matte lamination, gold edges or spot UV also add cost.
5. Quantity
Bulk orders lower the price per piece because setup, testing and packing are spread over more pieces. For orders of 1,000 pieces or more, we quote volume prices. Use our bulk quote form.
6. Testing and replacement cover
Testing every piece takes time, and a replacement guarantee is a real cost for the supplier. That is part of the difference between grades. Our Premium Grade is read and write tested one by one and carries a 5-year free replacement if a piece stops tapping; Grade B is sample tested with a 1-year replacement; Grade C is spot-checked with no replacement cover.
7. Printing and encoding
Blank NFC chips are the cheapest way to buy. Full-colour printing, laser engraving, encoding each chip with a link, and locking are quoted per order. Premium Grade includes free encoding and locking. See custom printing and white label.
Why the cheapest NFC chips can cost more
A low price per piece is attractive, especially for large orders. But consider what happens when chips fail after a few months:
- Your client’s customers tap and nothing happens.
- You reprint and re-encode the batch at your own cost.
- You lose the client’s trust, and often the next order.
For a printer selling NFC business cards at a good margin, the difference between a Grade C and a Premium chip is small compared with the cost of one unhappy corporate client. That is why we suggest Premium Grade for anything carrying a client’s brand for years, and Grade C for short-term events and giveaways where price matters most.
How NFC chip prices compare with online marketplaces
You will find NFC chips and stickers on online marketplaces at many different prices. Before comparing, check four things:
- Is the price per piece or per pack? Many listings show a pack price.
- Which chip is inside? “NFC sticker” can mean NTAG213, NTAG215, a clone or an older chip type.
- Is it genuine NXP? Ask the seller, then check a sample with NXP TagInfo.
- Is it in stock in Pakistan? Imported single orders can take weeks.
A fair comparison is like for like: same chip, same form, same grade, same quantity.
What does an NFC business card cost to make
If you are a printer, it helps to see the full cost of one NFC business card:
- The blank card: from Rs 75 (Grade C PVC) to Rs 1,999 (Premium hybrid metal).
- Printing or engraving: depends on your equipment or our quote.
- Encoding and locking: free on Premium Grade, quoted otherwise.
- Profile platform: if you offer a digital profile, your platform cost per user.
- Delivery: Leopards charges, paid separately.
Knowing each line lets you price your NFC business cards with a healthy margin. Our guide NFC business card business covers pricing in more detail.

Import duties and exchange rates
NFC chips are manufactured abroad, so local prices move with the exchange rate and import costs. When the rupee weakens, chip prices usually rise. This is one reason wholesale price lists are updated from time to time, and why the price in your order confirmation is final. Buying from a supplier that holds stock in Pakistan protects you from sudden changes during a project.
For technical details of the chips themselves, NXP publishes specifications for the NTAG family on its official website.
NFC chip price by use case
Different jobs need different NFC chips and forms. Here is what a typical project costs per piece at our Grade B prices, before printing.
A restaurant chain’s review stands
A chain with 20 branches that wants three review stands per branch needs 60 standees. At Grade B that is Rs 500 each. Add printing with the chain’s branding and encoding each branch’s Google review link, and the NFC chip price becomes a small part of a tool used thousands of times.
A printer’s NFC business card line
A printing press launching NFC business cards usually starts with PVC cards. Grade B PVC NFC cards cost Rs 500 each, and Grade C Rs 75 each for price-first clients. Many printers keep both grades in stock: Premium or Grade B for corporate clients, Grade C for students and promotions.
A brand’s packaging labels
A consumer brand adding NFC to packaging for product authentication or a how-to video uses wet inlays under the label. At Rs 50 per NTAG213 inlay in Grade B, a run of several thousand adds a small cost per box, and genuine NXP chips can be verified. See NFC stickers and inlays.
A factory’s machine tags
A factory tagging machines for maintenance logs needs anti-metal tags. White anti-metal stickers start at Rs 99 in Grade C, or epoxy anti-metal tags at Rs 350 in Grade B for tougher environments. See anti-metal NFC tags.
Paying for quality where it matters
The NFC chip price is only one line in the cost of a working product. The costs that hurt are the invisible ones: reprints after failures, time spent handling complaints, and lost clients. Genuine chips, tested stock and a written replacement period reduce those hidden costs. When you compare quotes, ask each supplier which chip is inside, whether every piece is tested, and what happens if pieces stop working. A supplier that answers clearly is usually the better deal, even if the price per piece is a little higher.
